The Eastern Regional Communications officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Williams Darlas, has said that the Electoral Commission deliberately planned to rig the just ended December 7 general elections in favour of the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, the Director of Electoral Commission in the Eastern Region, secretly faxed a fraudulent result to the headquarters of the EX in Accra. He narrated how events unfolded after the voting on December 7 in a press statement on Monday:

“NDC had even requested for a joint collation process which will ensure transparency and easy acceptance which the EC rudely refused. However, the pinksheet containing the results were signed by the NPP, GUM, NDC and the CPP around 6:37 pm. Let’s note that the PPP agent was unavailable at the point of completion of the Collation to sign. These figures were consequently published by some of you the media.”
“… after everybody has left, the EC transmitted a new fraudulent pinksheet containing different sets of figures that have all candidates’ votes increase but with the greatest padding for Nana Addo. This pinksheet had been signed by the NPP, GUM and the PPP agent at around 9:40 pm. These votes have been compensated for by reducing the percentage of the smaller parties.”
“This is clear evidence of the many manipulations and clever rigging mechanisms the EC and the NPP have put in place to change the will of the people of the Eastern Region.”
Mr Williams Darlas added that such an act by the Regional Director of the EC amounts to a subversion that requires criminal enquiry and action. He said the NDC is currently going through all due processes to avert any fraudulent declaration by the EC.
