The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC), has on Thursday, November 21, 2019 presented a final certificate to the Osofo Kyiri Abosom and his newly formed Ghana Union Movement (GUM) – a political party, at the Commission’s head office in Accra.
On September 24, 2019, the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) received its provisional certificate from the EC to commence operations and has since been in the campaign mood to defeat the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the up coming general elections in 2020.
The party is founded by Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrew (Osofo Kyiri Abosom) who is the Head Pastor and General Overseer of the Life Assembly Worship Centre in Accra.
The Chairperson of the EC, Jean Mensa, who handed over the certificate to the leadership of GUM – congratulated the party as she explained the laws governing political organisations. She cautioned them against flouting any of the regulations.
“If you go against the laws it will lead to the withdrawal of your certificate,” she stated.
