ECG board accepts resignation of MD

According Mr Afenyo-Markin, the company is intact and will continue to operate without any glitch.

The Board of Electricity Company (ECG), chaired by MP and Majority Leader of Parliament Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has assured the national power distribution company will operate without any challenge in spite of the untimely resignation of Managing Director (MD), Mr Samuel Dubik Mahama.

According Mr Afenyo-Markin, the company is intact and will continue to operate without any glitch.

He gave the assurance speaking after an emegency meeting of the board to allay the fears of Ghanaians following Mr Mahama’s resignation tendered in yesterday, September 25, 2024.

Mr Afenyo-Markin, also, announced an acting MD called David Asamoah had been appointed to the office, ahead of government appointing a substantive MD.

The NPP MP said the decision for Mr Asamoah to act as MD was to ensure the smooth running of ECG.

He said the board had accepted the resignation of the outgone MD.

He called on Ghanaians to detach politics from the operations of ECG to ensure its efficient running.
