EC’s explanation to Techiman South parliamentary result misleading – NDC

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has said that, the explanation of the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Mrs. Jean Mensa to the results of the Techiman South parliamentary race holds no water.

According to him, the EC, in their declaration stated that the presidential results of the Techiman West constituency will by no means change anything in the presidential results, hence called a win for President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Speaking at a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Accra, Mr. Asiedu Nketia said such an explanation by the EC chair was a misleading one.

He said by their computation if the entire presidential results from the constituency are to be added to that of their candidate, John Dramani Mahama, President Akufo-Addo’s percentage will never be over 50 percent.

He urged all supporters of the NDC to remain courageous as the leadership of the party still holds on to their stand of rejecting the declaration of the EC.
