Ghanaian-American actress, television personality, Anderea Owusu, professionally known as Efia Odo has apologised to Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy over her comment about 2024 Artiste of the Year.
Ghanaian Afropop, Afro-dancehall and reggae musician, Stonebwoy who crowned the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year, was nominated among other artists included, Sarkodie, Black Sheriff, King Promise, Nacee and Kuami Eugene.
Efia Odo who is a biggest fan of King Promise in a post on social media described Stonebwoy as an old man saying he should leave the award for the kids.
“I think it is cus Shatta and Sark has won it twice so that means he too he wants it twice (I’ve not mentioned names). The old man should should just leave ot for the kids cus it is evident that numbers numbers don’t lie. If you like let’s compare King Promises number to others . If …” She wrote.
But speaking on Accra-based United Television showbiz, Efia Odo stated her comment was wrong.
“When I am a fan of someone I go hard for the person. What I said about Stonebwoy calling him an old man is wrong, I admit it. And I have always wanted to be in public space and publicly apologise to Stonebwoy. If he is among the top artists in the country. For me to talk like that because I was trying to defend my friend (King Promise) was very wrong.”
According to her, Stonebwoy deserves better awards than Ghana Music Awards.
“I publicly made that comment so I wanted a public space like TV to apologise. When you write something on the internet it doesn’t have more impact like the person seeing you face to face, there is more emphasis on the immotion. What I want to say is that I see Stonebwoy to be bigger than Ghana Music Awards, I see him to be bigger than the platforms they give you.” She added.
“I want him to get to where I want him to get to, which is the Grammy. I think every artist wants to get the Grammy, so what I did was totally wrong, was disrespectful, I am very sorry.” Efia Odo indicated.
