Alexander Kwame Afenyo-Markin has set an ambitious target of securing 80% of the Effutu Constituency parliamentary votes in the upcoming 2024 elections.
At the filing of his nomination forms on Monday, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) declared in Fante, “This year, our target is to secure 80% of the votes.”
Speaking to a cheering crowd of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, Afenyo-Markin, who also serves as the Majority Leader in Parliament, highlighted his previous electoral success.
“Four years ago, we secured 65% of the total valid votes cast, but this year, we are aiming for 80%,” he said, drawing loud applause from the jubilant audience.
As the 2024 elections approach, Afenyo-Markin is intensifying his efforts to engage with constituents, using innovative polling and survey initiatives to help secure the votes.
These efforts aim to gauge the needs and concerns of the electorate, enabling him to address their priorities through infrastructure projects and community services. His campaign is particularly focused on engaging the Ewe, Fante, and Effutu communities.
