The Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC) has officially endorsed John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the leader of the Movement for Change (M4C), as its presidential candidate for the upcoming general elections on December 7.
The announcement was made by Yaw Buaben Asamoa, a prominent member of the M4C, during an interview on Accra-based Citi-FM.
Launched in Accra on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, the ARC aims to unify various major political groups, organizations, and key figures to collaborate in the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Asamoa emphasized that Mr. Kyerematen will represent the alliance as its candidate while continuing to serve as the founder and leader of the M4C.
“The Alliance has endorsed Mr Alan Kyerematen as the presidential candidate. The ARC is a grouping and it is still open for many others to join…Nobody is losing their core identities, however, they all subscribe to the ideals of the ARC…Mr Kyerematen will be the candidate of the alliance but would campaign as the leader and founder for M4C,” said Mr. Asamoa.
He further emphasised that the alliance is open to everyone interested in moving beyond the duopoly of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He also underscored that “political entities, movements, and individuals who join the alliance would retain their identities.”
