Election 2024: NDC has not won yet people are fighting for positions – Asiedu Nketia laments

“So I can see orchestrations and movements towards positioning ourselves in what is happening in 2028. I beg you, the name of our game now is victory December 2024. Let us seek ye first, the victory of December 2024 and all other things shall be added unto thee”

The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has warned members of the party who are fighting for opposition ahead of the 2024 general elections.

He said some people in the NDC claim that they have already won the December 7, polls and so they have started to take position on what they will be in the next NDC government.

Speaking at a ceremony to officially outdoor Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as the running mate to the flagbearer of the party, Former President , John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday, April 24, at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA), Asiedu Nketia stressed that fighting for positions ahead of the general elections can reduce the enthusiasm and the spirits of our followers so they must stop.

“Because we have already confessed that we are there, a lot of people have begun taking positions and fighting over who will be what in the next government. Indeed, some people are not only fighting about the positions they will occupy, they are telling others that they will be the king makers and they will be making the appointments. If you are not careful, this will dampen the enthusiasm and the spirits of our followers” General Mosquito stated.

According to him, NDC is not yet there so they should focus on how to win the elections before talking about positions.

He said the party members should first seek the victory of the December 7 polls and every other thing will be added to them.

“So I want to assure everybody that we are not there yet, don’t be fighting about positions and don’t be talking about who will make an appointment, let us all go for the hunting first and when we kill the game, we now argue about how to share the meat. Finally, a lot of us assume that we have won 2024 and that somehow we have succeeded in governing this country so well that Ghanaians will be willing to turn into power in 2028.”

“So I can see orchestrations and movements towards positioning ourselves in what is happening in 2028. I beg you, the name of our game now is victory December 2024. Let us seek ye first, the victory of December 2024 and all other things shall be added unto thee”
