A man said to be in his mid-thirties, met his untimely death after he was electrocuted at Korve, a community in the Akatsi North District of the Volta Region.
The deceased, a well known electrician identified only as Gershon, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023.
Chairman of the Certified Electrical Wiring Professionals Association of Ghana (CEWPAG) Akatsi North Local Chapter, Saviour Bedzrah, also known as Banana told ghananewsonline.com.gh that he was informed of the unfortunate incident while on his way to drop a friend in one of the nearby villages last Saturday.
Bedzrah said he initially did not believe the report but it was later confirmed to him by a relative of the deceased who said the unfortunate incident occurred after the deceased tried to fix a fault on one of the high voltage electric poles in the area close to a corn milling machine.
He added that the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Akatsi government hospital morgue.
Gershon is said to have been a non-certified electrician.
So far, there has not been any official statement from the police on the matter.
