CJ Anin Yeboah serves Notice of a Specialized Court for tax-related offenses

Chief Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah has sent out a notice that his office is setting up a specialist Court for the prosecution of tax-related offenses.

In a letter to the Ghana Bar Association asking for inputs, the Chief Justice said the court will be located in the Supreme Court building in Accra.

“We write to inform you that upon representations made by the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Judicial Service is preparing to establish a tax court to deal with the prosecutions of tax cases.

The tax court in Accra will be located at the criminal division of the Court of Appeal within the Supreme Court building. Please, if the Bar has any reservations or misgivings, kindly let us know,” the letter said.

Dated the 16th of April, the letter said the “effective date of commencement will be communicated in due course. Kindly bring this notice to the attention of members of the Bar,” the CJ wrote.
