The The Fourth Estate and fact-check Ghana reported that, these are the prices of farm produce in the market, between January-October 2021. This is the official data from the ministry of Food and Agriculture.
The minister obviously may have a different data he is relying on, otherwise, his insistence that price of goods are going down is generally not true and this contradicts his position, particularly on the price of plantain. What makes it more surprising to me is that, this data comes from the same ministry he heads, that’s according to The Fourth Estate.
He’s either not on top of his job which suggests he’s not reading his brief on matters as basic as food prices, or he’s deliberately misleading the public for political purposes which for me shouldn’t be acceptable from a minister that occupies such a sensitive position like the ministry of Agric.
Food prices can’t be “propaganda-rized” it’s the most basic thing that everyone feels and know depending how they buy from the market.
