Fire has gutted part of the Kwadaso main market. Wares running into several thousands of cedis have been burnt.
Most of the affected products were food stuff and affected traders are currently counting their losses.
About forty shops were affected, the fire started around 1 am and firefighters had difficulty accessing the fire scene due to the settlement of the market.
Kwadaso market is one of the major markets in Kumasi. Authorities have not been able to identify the cause of the fire yet as investigations are still ongoing.
Affected traders say this is a huge blow for them as they secured loans to ply their trade and were hoping to make sales and pay back their loans.
