A 17-year-old boy has met his untimely death in Trede in the Ashanti Region when he attempted to intervene in a fight between two lovers.

Daniel Fosuhene, who had just completed the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), was reportedly asleep in his room when he was awakened by loud voices on his compound.

The voices were those of two lovers who were in a heated argument over alleged infidelity.

The argument, according to eyewitnesses, quickly escalated into a brawl.

Ofosuhene intervened to separate the two.

However, during the altercation, the boyfriend, in a fit of rage, pulled out a knife and stabbed Fosuhene in the chest.

Other neighbours rushed him to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The case was reported to the police, who arrested the suspect.

Meanwhile, the victim’s mother, Madam Esther Akyaa, has appealed to the authorities to expedite the investigations and grant her son justice.

“I want the police to expedite their investigation so that justice can be served for my son,” she pleaded tearfully.

In May 2024, what was intended to be a heroic act turned tragic for a 28-year-old tricycle rider when he tried to intervene in a fight at Akyem Dwaso in the Eastern Region.

Yaw Amoako was stabbed to death when he went to the rescue of his neighbour.

According to reports, he was at home with his fiancee when he heard disturbances outside.

When he went outside to investigate, he discovered that a group of young men were attacking his neighbour.

He allegedly intervened and attempted to disperse them, but one of the attackers, identified as Nana Opoku, turned on him.

He stabbed him three times in the stomach, leading to his death.
