Ghana AIDS Commission DG Refutes Allegations of Corruption and Nepotism

The Director General of the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC), Dr. Kyereme Atuahene, has issued a rejoinder to an article published by National Tymes on December 16, 2024, titled “Ghana AIDS Commission Workers demand Revocation of DG’s Contract Extension over Alleged Corruption and Nepotism.” The article, accused Dr. Atuahene of corruption and nepotism, calling for the revocation of his contract extension by Staffs of the Commission.

In his response through his lawyers – Benchmark Lawyes & Consultants and copied to Ghana News Online and Businessweek Ghana, Dr. Atuahene described the publication as baseless and defamatory, stating that it lacks factual accuracy and aims to tarnish his hard-earned reputation. He expressed concern that the article could damage the esteemed image of the GAC, potentially undermining the confidence of the Commission’s stakeholders, including multilateral and bilateral partners.
