Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has announced his final squad to represent Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar which commences this weekend.
The squad sees the Ayew brothers make it to their third World Cup after representing Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 editions in South Africa and Brazil respectively.
Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey and Mohammed Salisu make the list for the World Cup after choosing to represent Ghana in September this year.
Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Ibrahim Danlad are the only two locally based players to make the squad with the latter reportedly being considered after injury to first choice goalkeeper Joojo Wollacott.
Going into the tournament as the lowest ranked side, Otto Addo’s 26-man squad will provide a chance for 24 players to make their debut appearances at the World Cup.
Ghana has a lot of work to do particularly against Uruguay who stopped the Black Stars from becoming the first African side to make it to the semifinals of the World Cup as they lost on penalties at the 2010 edition in South Africa.
Ghana will play Switzerland on November 17 before jetting off to Qatar where they face Portugal on November 24 in their first group game.
