The Kpletso incident was a culmination of activities calculated to clandestinely annex the prime La Stool Lands using the Military which was the subject of a Petition from the La Mantse Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru III to President Akufo Addo. .
The Petition was ignored, instead there were steps taken to consolidate the stealing of the land in the name of the Military who have made a proposal for acquisition of the land but the State had not acquired the land.
The was first the creation of an illegal Military Cemetery, then the election of the Major Mahama Statue, walling and illegally building on the land…
The 24/7 deployment of military Landguards in the area and sale of parts of the Lands to private persons including real estate developers…
President Akufo-Addo has been pretending not to be aware of the assault on la citizens at Kpletso, three of whom have since died of their injuries…
The Defence Minister sent a high profile delegation from the Defence Ministry to make a token private donation at the funeral of one of the three dead victims of the Military brutalities at Kpletso…
The Military High Command promised an investigation into the Kpletso Shooting and Assault on 16th April, 2021 but have failed to make their findings public despite several Petitions and the DEFENCE MINISTRY HAS NOT PUBLICLY COMMENTED EITHER thus emboldened others to continue the impunity elsewhere…
The Lands Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor claimed that he wrote officially to the Defence Minister to stop the Military from continuing the illegal construction work at Kpletso; which has been ignored as construction work continues with impunity…
The refusal of the Ghana Police Service whose senior officers were present at Kpletso on 15th April, 2021 when heavily armed men in Ghana Army uniforms arrived in military vehicles to shoot and assault the unarmed citizens of La, has refused to investigate despite Petitions to the IGP…
The National Media Commission also refused to investigate the Kpletso assault even.though several journalists including the Citi FM/TV journalist Nii Ayikwei Okine were wounded by the soldiers at Kpletso on 15th April, 2021…
The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice [CHRAJ] despite agreeing to investigate the Kpletso incident for some reason has stalled for almost two years…
