The Black Stars have been handed a challenging draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, as they find themselves in Group F alongside Niger, Angola, and Sudan.
On Thursday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) conducted the draw in Johannesburg, unveiling the groups for the upcoming edition of Africa’s premier football tournament. Ghana will face off against Niger, Angola, and Sudan in Group F, with the top two teams advancing to the AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco.
The qualifying matches will kick off in June, and the Black Stars will be eager to overcome their recent disappointments. Ghana has not claimed the AFCON title since 1982, and their most recent campaign ended with a quarterfinal exit at the 2019 edition.
Ghana’s opponents in the group stage will present a formidable challenge. Niger and Angola both boast talented squads, while Sudan will be aiming to establish itself on the international stage.
“To qualify for AFCON 2025 and make a significant impact, the Black Stars must deliver their best performances,” said coach Otto Addo, who will be hoping his team starts the campaign on a strong note.
