Ghana Government desperately selling Christianity to supplement E-Levy? – How Akufo-Addo hopes to commercialise his Cathedral

The Cathedral has been embroiled in so much controversy, from the wrongful acquisition of the Prime Land, demolition of buildings including Judges' residences and other State buildings, the fundraising which is believed to have been supported by the LGBTQI Community.

Nana Akufo-Addo touted his Christian family heritage and his personal credentials as he bid for the alleged Gay Advocate, David Adjaye, as Architect of his Cathedral which he hopes will be a replica of the Bible Museum in Washington DC, USA.”

President Akufo-Addo did not mention nor deny the SERWAH BRONI AFFAIR allegedly involving him and a Lesbian, which USA based Ghanaian journalist that painted his Presidency and his Christian credentials in the worst possible light.

Back home in Ghana, a Civil Society Organisation – ASEPA has Petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) which has officially acknowledged that it is investigating the attempted use of National Security operatives to stage an armed robbery on the Canadian citizen – SERWAH BRONI.

The Cathedral has been embroiled in so much controversy, from the wrongful acquisition of the Prime Land, demolition of buildings including Judges’ residences and other State buildings, the fundraising which is believed to have been supported by the LGBTQI Community.

It will be recalled that President Akufo-Addo in a BBC interview indicated that Homosexuality was bound to take root in Ghana if the LGBTQI Community mounted enough pressure…

Then Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye categorically stated that he will not allow Homosexuality in Ghana, in sync with the position expressed by President Atta-Mills and President John Mahama when they were asked similar questions.

Parliament has since had ant Anti-LGBTQI Bill brought before it by a coalition of MPs, Religious Leaders and Civil Society Organisations in the hope that it will put to rest any hope of introducing homosexuality, Gay Marriage and advocacy as is being canvassed by David Adjaye and others…

It will be recalled that, Gabby Asare Ochere-Darko, a nephew of President Akufo-Addo during his 2008 bid to become President of Ghana, was advocating for a Gay Conference to be held in Ghana…

The Akufo-Addo LGBTQI-cum-Christian hurdle:

“How President Akufo-Addo is able to navigate the LGBTQI-cum-Christian hurdle especially when he used the Bible Museum platform to tout his Gay Advocate David Adjaye and his controversial Cathedral…”

Akufo-Addo claimed that he promised his god a Cathedral if he won the 2016 election, which makes his Cathedral a polarizing personal and partisan decision…

Akufo-Addo said that the Cathedral should not be a burden on the State;

The Finance Minister’s call for Ghanaians to contribute GHc100 per month per head during his reading of the National Budget, has not been supported by Ghanaians who are experiencing the most excruciating hardships under Akufo-Addo, Bawumia and Ken Ofori-Atta.

Akufo-Addo said his Cathedral will make Ghana the destination for Religious pilgrimage as it will include a Bible Museum, Africa’s Garden of Eden and replica Wailing Wall.

Akufo-Addo is hinging the rescue of Ghana’s economy on imaginary revenue he projects to generate from Christian tourists who cannot afford to travel to the Original Wailing Wall in Israel or Bible Museum in USA.

“Akufo-Addo hopes that the over 70% Ghanaian Christians will abandon their current churches and patronise his Cathedral…”

Ghana is heavily debt Distressed and nearly bankrupt, but the bankruptcy of the President’s rescue plan is frightening as Ghanaians abandon the use of electronic transactions particularly MoMo as the unpopular E-Levy is forced on them…

The Minority in Parliament are hopeful of stopping the E-Levy which they contend was passed by the NPP MPs without a quorum after they boycotted Parliamentary processes leading to the passage of the bill.

President Akufo-Addo hurriedly signing into law the E-Levy notwithstanding can be outlawed by the Supreme Court which has recently determined that Parliament requires a minimum 138 members of Parliament present and voting to pass such bills…

Ghanaians are waiting with baited breaths the verdict of the Supreme Court on the substantive E-Levy case, a possible refund of their E-Levy deductions which the court has ordered the GRA to keep proper account of while others are threatening demonstrations as price of fuel, food and transportation spikes to further worsen the hardships confronting Ghanaians.

STAY TUNED.
