Developed by Ghanaian tech company Wigal Vision Ltd, the app enables citizens to actively monitor and collate polling station results, fostering accountability and confidence in the country’s democratic system.
The iCollate app, accessible via the Google Play Store, Apple Store, iCollate.app, or through the shortcode *800*2024# for non-smartphone users, allows users to upload polling station results, share photographic and video evidence, and access real-time nationwide updates. This innovation comes at a critical time as Ghanaians prepare for elections, emphasizing transparency and inclusiveness.
“Elections are not only about casting votes but also about ensuring every vote is accounted for,” said the Project Lead for iCollate. “This platform empowers Ghanaians to protect our democracy and promote transparency, making every citizen an active participant in ensuring free and fair elections.”
The app is designed as an independent initiative and does not seek to replace the Electoral Commission’s (EC) official role. Instead, it provides a tool for citizens to complement the collation process at polling stations, enhancing overall confidence in the results.
