Over 6000 junior police officers have been promoted to the next higher ranks in the Ghana Police Service.
The promotion, according to a statement from the police service, takes effect from today, January 1, 2020.
The officers include Inspectors, Corporals, Lance Corporals, and Constables.
“…The promotions of 390 Inspectors whose promotion to the rank of Chief Inspectors has been backdated to 1st July, 2019 due to administrative adjustments”, the police further clarified
This comes days after the service elevated 21 top police chiefs into higher ranks of Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of Police.
Notable amongst them is the Director General of Public Affairs at the Service, Deputy Commissioner Of Police (DCOP) David S Eklu —who until his elevation, was an Assistant Commissioner Of Police (ACP).
