Ghana Tech Lab – an Ecosystem hub has launched the Ghana Startup Ecosystem Ranking 2020 to measure the beans level of Ghana’s Startup Ecosystem in 13 regions of the country.
The Ghana’s Startup Ecosystem Mapping which forms part of the Pathways to Sustainable Employment (PaSE) Project funded by the MasterCard Foundation under the Young Africa Works Initiative (YAW) seeks to create 3 Million jobs in the country.
The Ghana’s Tech Lab seeks to accelerate and catalyze Ghana’s position as Africa’s number one centre for highly-skilled digital work force/human capital, ideas to market accelerator, and be a fertile platform for innovative and promising Startups in Africa.
Speaking at the event of the launch, Emelia Enyonam Kuleke said the team from Ghana Tech Lab engaged some business operators across the country to find out how their businesses were doing and the challenges they face.
To her, most businesses are not striving due to the collapse of financial institutions forcing people in some communities to form groups to help each other with financial assistance and this serves as startups for their businesses in that sector.
Ghana Tech Lab is under the Ministry of Communication’s E-transform project with funding from the World Bank.
She said the Ghana Tech Lab will help drive Tech innovations and advance digital transformation in Ghana through skills training and innovative entrepreneurship support and investment for startups.
