Ghanaian dancer Allo Maadjoa laments lack of facility in Kumasi to groom their talents

He said dance is one of the avenues that can generate income for the state and promote Ghana’s rich culture if the government makes it attractive.

Renowned Ghanaian dancer, Allo Maadjoa has appealed to the government to pay attention to the Dance Industry in Ghana.

He said dance is one of the avenues that can generate income for the state and promote Ghana’s rich culture if the government makes it attractive.

Speaking on the challenges the dancing fraternity is facing with Agoropapa, the host of Ezra FM Entertainment Arena, he said dancers in Kumasi have been left behind since there is no auditorium to convene classes for people to come to our camp to groom their talents.

“I think that one thing we are lacking is a facility or auditorium to exhibit to people that we have this career, we do this and we can even educate the people to also get exposure to achieve their aim. For example, if I want to organize a free dance class for the people, there is no auditorium.” Allo Maadjoa lamented.

The dancer who has been a significant figure in the industry for years making reference to a third-year Banking and Finance student of the University of Ghana, Legon, Danita Akosua Adomah Yeboah (Afronitaaa) and her dance partner Abigail Dromo claimed the third position of the 2024 Britain’s Got Talent show said more effort can be done to make the dancing industry attractive and lucrative which can eventually promote national development.

“The government should pay a little attention because this career is making Ghana proud. Recently, Afronitaa and Abigail were trending all over social media and the world. She projected Ghana so we need support.” He said.

Commenting on the high cost of data bundles in Ghana, the dancer appealed to the government to reduce taxes on TELCOS so that they can also reduce the cost of their data services to enable citizens to get enough access to watch videos from the creative arts in Ghana.
