Ghanaian ferry loaded with three cargo trucks sinks in river

A ferry carting three cargo trucks on the Makango River, located in the East Gonja District of Savannah region – 334km drive from the capital, Accra – sank on Friday.

According to reports, personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service rushed to the scene to save the situation but were unsuccessful.

It took more than an hour for the ferry to sink, reported Myjoyonline.com.

The ferry was popular on the Makango to Yeji route and was bound for Yendi in the newly created Bono Region.
