Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra region, Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, has urged the rank and file of the party to forge ahead in unity towards the 2024 general elections as Ghanaians are tired of the lies and misrule from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) since 2017.
He expressed optimism that the Presidential candidate of the party, John Mahama would cruise to victory in the 2024 Presidential elections considering his wide acceptability across the country during the NDC primaries.
Hon Ashie Moore was speaking to EXPRESSNEWSGHANA, after the NDC presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
While congratulating the Zonal Teams, Constituency executives, and delegates among others in the region for ensuring that former President, John Dramani Mahama won the presidential primaries with the highest percentage out of the 16 regions, the NDC Regional Chairman noted that “Ghanaians are tired of the lies by the ruling NPP” and now hinge their hopes on the NDC and John Mahama.
The Greater Accra region had the highest number of delegates and delivered 99.59% of the votes for John Dramani Mahama. This, Hon Ashie Moore who was also the Regional Campaign manager for the John Mahama campaign, expressed joy at the large turnout of the over 50,000 delegates to secure a resounding victory in the region for the former president.
“I and my regional executives will continue to express our sincerest gratitude to all our delegates within the Greater Accra Region for such an amazing show at the just-ended Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries.”
According to him, Ghanaians will not forgive the NDC if it fails for victory in the 2024 Presidential election, adding that, “Ghanaians are tired of the misrule and the lies by President Akufo-Addo and his government and we must show them we are serious.
He therefore urged all and sundry in the region to work hard as the task ahead is enormous and the ultimate is to win the 2024 elections.
“So, let us unite, disband all campaign factions, close our ranks and files and work together so that we can rescue the country. We must put our house together so that we can regain the mandate of Ghanaians to rescue this country,” Hon Ashie Moore added.
