An activist of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ho Central Constituency of the Volta Region, Oscar Komla Bedzra, has described as bitter lessons, some actions of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) since it maintained political power in December 2020.
In a viral statement on social media, Oscar Bedzra indicated that the NPP in an attempt to maintain power had adopted the ‘4 more to do more’ slogan only to end up in formulating unexpected policies after winning power, and this to him is a bitter lesson that Ghanaians must learn from.
“…the NPP used 4 more to do more as a slogan to engage in high levels of corruption, besides introducing nuisance policies such as E-LEVY and sanitation levy. Skyrocketing prices of goods are no exception,” he stated. He said this has never before happened under any government in it’s second term
“…the NPP’s emerging breaking the eight slogan is a manipulated form of the 4 more to do more”. Hee explained that this is likely to plunge this country into another level of political and financial instability when given another four years mandate beyond 2024.
In a related development, Oscar Komla Bedzra has urged the Economic Management Team of President Akufo-Addo to develop and publish a distribution formula for the E-LEVY before rolling out the policy. This he said will go a long way to enhance transparency and accountability with the tax regime.
