Ghana’s Constitution Doesn’t Stop Me From Contesting Again – Akyem Swedru MP

He added that it will be better for his contenders to get a better campaign message rather than attacking him to step down because he has been on the seat for three terms.

The member of parliament for Akyem Swedru constituency who double as the Chairman for Eastern regional NPP MPs caucus; Hon. Kennedy Osei Nyarko has responded to his contenders who are telling him to step down because he has been MP for three consecutive terms that Ghana’s constitution doesn’t stop him from contesting the fourth time.

Hon. Kennedy Osei Nyarko during a mega health walk exercise he organized at Akyem Swedru which brought together number of some MPs in the Eastern region to rally in preparation for victory in 2024 divulged that he has been hearing his contenders telling him to step down but he will certainly contest again because the 1992 constitution of Ghana doesn’t violate him from contesting for forth time.

He stated that the Akyem Swedru constituency under his leadership as the member of parliament has witnessed a tremendous development, being it roads, health, education, social interventions, among other important and beneficial things for his constituents which has been the main reason why his NPP party keep sending him to parliament.

He added that it will be better for his contenders to get a better campaign message rather than attacking him to step down because he has been on the seat for three terms.
