We are inching closer each day towards when the last trees dies and our water bodies are totally destroyed despite knowing, that water is life…
Today is one of those very sad days, as I write in the darkness of Dumsor in Dansoman.
It’s almost Mother’s Day!
Mother Ghana is Broke and on the verge of declaring Bankruptcy…
Our Motherland is being looted by those we have entrusted with State Power and State Resources, while the gatekeepers, the media, Civil Society and Moral Society look on…
Our Land Ministry is complicit.
Land Looting and Galamsey are on the ascendancy under the watch of Akufo-Addo and Samuel Abu Jinapor.
President Akufo-Addo was recently seen partying at Nkawkaw, in the Eastern Region during the 2022 Kwahu Easter festivities…
I retraced Akufo-Addo’s steps to Nkawkaw;
Nkawakaw except at Easter, is one of the many underdeveloped parts of Ghana with very great potential, this is in spite of the fact that Kwahu abounds in industrious indigenes.
Despite the contribution of its people and the vast potential of Kwahu, you are confronted immediately upon entering its capital with the very poor road network in the Nkawkaw town centre, no night life, and very low value commercial and economic activity in the very heart of Kwahu
Ironically, Kwahu boasts of producing some of the most thrifty businessmen and entrepreneurial women in Ghana…
I was personally there on Friday and Saturday.
I saw what the President Akufo-Addo and his entourage must have seen;
…this included the fabrication of Galamsey equipment by the roadside and an active Galamsey site near the main highway near Anyinam across the road from the Police Station…
Many Filling Stations also had Excavators parked on their compounds…
I’m sharing Google Locations of where some of these Excavators are parked, where Galamsey Equipment are being fabricated and an active Roadside Galamsey site;
…so whoever including National Security, the Police, “Operation Galamstop”, “Operation Halt” and the many other acronyms of those responsible for Ghana’s failed fight against Galamsey can follow up.
On my way back to Accra…
I saw a convoy of about ten (10) Long vehicles carrying very huge brand new Excavators and other equipment on the main highway on the stretch between New Jejeti and Apesika in the Kwahu West District…
Ghana has lost the Fight Against Galamsey…
The Lands Ministry is complicit, the Deputy Minister was specifically named in the media recently as being directly involved in Galamsey.
George Mireku Duker was named on several radio and television news bulletins, as having a Galamsey Gang which was recently involved in a Deadly Galamsey Gang War.
The love for money over the love for country or service to the nation, has taken various forms…
Army Nu Hia Sika:
The Military’s complicity has been evidenced in various viral videos.
Armed men in Ghana Army Uniform are seen together with members of the NPP Delta Force offering security protection for Chinese Galamseyers so they can continue their operations unimpeded…
Ironically, these Military personnel deployed by their superiors to the forest reserves are willing to fight the Police and Media to ensure the destruction of the farmlands, pollution of water bodies by these Galamseyers…
The Defence Minister, Dominic Nutitul, needs to give an accurate account of the status of the Fight Against Galamsey with particular reference to the role and involvement of the Ghana Armed Forces.
The Galamsey menace is worsened by the involvement, duplicity and corruption of Government and Party officials…
Government Nu Hia Sika:
The Akufo Addo government’s refusal to prosecute the Chinese Galamsey Queen Aisha Huang set the tone for Ghana’s fight against Galamsey and the government’s signing of a Mining contract with Sinohydro to destroy the Atiwa Forest reserve in search of Bauxite and Gold was the final death nail…
Party Nu Hia Sika:
Following the secret recordings of Ekow Ewusi and Charles Bissiu, they must publicly be given an opportunity to speak to the roles they played together with Prof. Frimpong Boateng in the first failed fight against Galamsey and also for Ekow Ewusi clarify what he said in a very recent viral audio recording alleging the involvement of Gabby Asare Ochere-Darko in Galamsey.
President Akufo-Addo must address the Nation to update Ghanaians on the Sinohydro Mining in his hometown, specifically the Atiwa Forest and how they are protecting the trees and environment…
Greening Ghana & GNPC Sika Nu:
The Presbyterian Church in Akyem Abuakwa is said to have planted thousands of shady trees under the Green Ghana project;
The otherwise laudable tree planting exercise has gained some notoriety and growing demand from Ghanaians to know the details following President Akufo-Addo’s claim at the Bible Museum of his familial ties to that particular presbytery and on the back of the GNPC doling huge amounts of cash to his cousin, the Okyehene, to plant trees and celebrate his anniversary while the GNPC itself was posting losses and there is no proof that the Chief of Akufo-Addo’s hometown planted any trees with the money he received from the GNPC…
Ghana deserves accountability…
Protection of the Public Purse:
The previous Auditor General, Yao Domelevo, directed that all persons who wrongfully received money from GNPC or for no work done be surcharged.
The GNPC cash dole out beneficiaries included the First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Maafo’s Kroll & Associates.
Yao Domelevo got fired by President after he was forced to go on a long leave amid lengthy letters written by the Executive Secretary of the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo who is also the Apedwahene of the Okyehene and a cousin of President Akufo-Addo…
The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources confirmed that Galamsey has destroyed many of the country’s water bodies causing acute water shortage and an astronomically high cost of treating water…
COCOBOD has also confirmed that over 82% of farmlands have been destroyed due to the activities of Galamseyers…
There is an acute food shortage, leading to food inflation that is driving overall inflation which is set to further skyrocket as transport fares rise by 20-30% in the coming days, further exacerbating the hardship of Ghanaians especially workers whose low salaries and conditions are fuelling strikes and possible demonstrations…
The e-levy has made matters even worse;
Let’s see what happens when the Supreme Court rules on the substantive case yet the NDC Minority in Parliament, as to whether there was a quorum when the bill was purportedly passed…
GOD SAVE OUR HOMELAND GHANA.
STAY TUNED.
RIP Leeford Kpakpo Quarshie
