The Tertiary Education Institutions Network of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has called on the government to give university students free internet bundles to enable them access E-learning platforms as online lectures commence.
In a statement signed by the president, Crispin Wienaa, and issued by the communication officer, Samuel Ayeh, on April 11, 2020, the intellectual wing, urged the government to come to the aid of students with free internet services so they can access the E-learning platforms.
“Students need to continue with academic work while at home. The E-learning is a fantastic idea. We therefore call on government to come to the aid of University of Cape Coast students and possibly all university students with free internet services to access the E-learning platforms,” the statement noted.
The press statement went on to support similar calls by the UCC SRC to the university management to make arrangements for free internet data to all students.
