In a heartwarming display of commitment to education, the Honourable Member of Parliament for the North Dayi constituency in the Volta Region, Joycelyn Tetteh, has distributed essential items to 783 students who qualified for second-cycle education after their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The “Going to School with Joy” initiative, spearheaded by the young lawmaker, aims to alleviate the financial burden on parents and students by ensuring a smooth transition to secondary school.
The distribution took place in all nine traditional areas of the North Dayi district/constituency in an atmosphere filled with joy and excitement.
Items distributed to the students included mattresses, chop boxes, exercise books, mathematical sets, sardines, mackerel, sugar, gari, toilet rolls, sanitary pads, and buckets.
These essential items are expected to go a long way in supporting the students’ academic journey, promoting comfort, and fostering a conducive learning environment.
Some also received cash donations from the MP to facilitate their transportation to their various schools across the country.
The North Dayi lawmaker’s initiative demonstrates her dedication to the welfare and education of her constituents as the provision of these essential items helps in bridging the gap between basic education and secondary education, ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial constraints.
The “Going to School with Joy” initiative which has been running for the past four years has been widely praised by parents, students, and community leaders, who have expressed gratitude to the MP for her selfless commitment to the development of the youth in North Dayi.
As the students begin their secondary school journey, they can do so with confidence, knowing that their MP is dedicated to supporting their educational pursuits.
