A group calling itself Concerned Youth of Gomoa Central Constituency in the Central Regional has warned they will stage a mammoth demonstration against, madam Naana Eyiah Quansah Member of Parliament for the area for not helping the constituents.
Madam Naana Eyiah Quansah who according to the youths bullied her way through in the 2020 general election never helped anyone in the constituency. Speaking to the leader of the group, Kwaku Akrofil, he revealed Madam Naana Eyiah Quansah was able to buy the majority of the NPP party executives which made her succeeded in the Parliamentary Primaries and subsequently winning the seat
He attributed the MP’s ability to win the seat in the 2020 general elections, to what he calls love for the NPP adding that though the youths were angry and disappointed in the MP their desire than to give president Nana Akufo Addo a working majority in parliament coupled with a promise from the MP that she will turn a new leave made the nearly impossible possible.
The Youths leader told Awake News’ reporter that, almost all the youths in the constituency are unemployment. This He is contributing to social vices and the rise in teenage pregnancy in the area.
The unemployment rate here is very high. When our MP was Deputy Minister and also served on some Boards, she never helped anyone” – He said
“We will demonstrate against her” – He fumes
He said the MP “from 2017 to 2020 she served as a member of ‘board of directors’ on many boards but failed to secure projects to the constituency that would have created employment for the teeming unemployed youths.
He further stated that, only a few of the Youths who are able to venture into entrepreneurship and skilled labor with their own finances are not improving because the little finance they have can’t support them compete with their colleagues, he also mentioned poor road network system in the constituency as a factor for their intended demonstration.
He also vowed they will kick against her should President Akufo-Addo made any mistake of giving her an appointment in his second term.
