Goodseed Christian Home (GCH) has collaborated with the First Love Foundation (FLF) – an Accra-based nongovernmental organization to organize a feast for over 500 deprived children in Panpanso, a suburb of Suhum in the Eastern Region.
The organizers embarked on a brass band procession on the principal streets of Suhum to educate the residents on the health dangers of cholera and malaria.
The Children later converged at the Panpaso School Park where they got fed with a variety of sumptuous meals, drinks and confetti.
The founder of GCH who is also a fibre glass expert, Benedict Lamptey, explained that the feast forms part of the social responsibility of the organization to enable it give back to the needy and deprived children in the society.
According to him, children, are special in the sight of God, hence the need to give them the necessary support in all aspects of life.
“These children need a lot of support from some of us to reshape or organize their lives to become a better and useful to the society,” he stressed.
He expressed joy, happiness and inner satisfaction for seeing the children filled with excitement and goodness. He further expressed his eagerness to continue with such benevolent gestures to deprived children.
“I intend to continue to support the children and people in the area by providing social amenities like water since the area lacks potable water,” he again noted.
He called on corporate institutions and donor agencies to support the NGO to enable them achieve the social objective of supporting the need and deprived children in the communities.
The manager of the organization, Emmanuel Yao Boafo, disclosed that the responsibility of the NGO is to train the childrenn in dress making and hairdressing to enable them get better skills early in life so they can be self-employed.
First Love Foundation later donated toiletries, second-hand clothes and shoes worth Ghc1,500 to the children’s home for distribution to the children and their mothers.
Again, the President of GCH, Grace Sarfoah Asabre, attributed their motivation to the deprived conditions of the children in the area.
The overly elated children were also thrilled with good music amid dancing and music chair competitions.
The Goodseed Christian Home was founded in 2017 at Achimota School in Accra to cater for children in deprived areas and has since supported deprived children in the Panpaso community
