The National Election Security Taskforce has announced the provision of vehicles from various ministries and government agencies to support the movement of personnel and logistics for the upcoming general elections. This was revealed during a press conference held ahead of tomorrow’s polls.
ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, noted that this practice aligns with established traditions in election operations.
“As part of efforts to secure adequate vehicles for the movement of personnel and logistics during the general elections, the National Election Security Taskforce and the Electoral Commission reached out to several state agencies for support. This is in line with general practices observed during past elections,” she stated.
According to ACP Ansah-Akrofi, agencies such as the Ministry of Education, district assemblies, and other local government institutions across the country heeded the call and responded positively by providing pickups, buses, and other vehicles to support the election exercise.
“We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to all these agencies for their support in this vital assignment. Their assistance reflects the established practices that ensure the smooth conduct of elections in our country,” she added.
As the nation prepares to head to the polls, the National Election Security Taskforce reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law, order, and security for a peaceful election. ACP Ansah-Akrofi concluded by urging all stakeholders to cooperate with the task force in ensuring a successful electoral process.
