A Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Stephen Amoah, has emphasized the government’s dedication to mitigating the economic impact on citizens by actively working to stabilize the economy.
In a recent appearance on JoyNews’ Newsfile, Dr. Amoah outlined that despite the financial strains caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the government has refrained from imposing new taxes to alleviate the burden on Ghanaians.
Dr. Amoah detailed the implementation of various policies aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with financial assistance to foster job creation and economic growth.
He cited increased funding for social programs such as LEAP, school feeding schemes, and the National Health Insurance as evidence of the government’s commitment to public welfare.
“The significant investments in these areas demonstrate our dedication to the well-being of Ghanaians,” Dr. Amoah stated on July 27.
He praised the Finance Minister and the President for their empathy and disciplined fiscal management.
Dr. Amoah asserted that the government’s recent policies and fiscal discipline have led to outperformance against economic targets, contributing to the ongoing efforts to rejuvenate the economy.
