Gov’t commits GH₵2 billion for dualization of Accra-Ksi highway to reduce road accidents – Osei Nyarko

"These projects are expected to commence latest by the first week of April this year, 2022."

The Akufo-Addo led government is set to commit a total sum of GH₵2 billion for the dualization of the Accra-Kumasi highway.

This is according to Chairman of the Roads and Transport Committee of Parliament, Kennedy Osei Nyarko who adds that the dualization of the stretch will see the construction of four separate by-passes.

One of the by-pass projects of a distance of 11.6 kilometres, will be constructed at Osino, 6.1 kilometres at Anyinam, 10.5 kilometres at Enyiresi and finally 13.5 kilometres at Konongo.

Throwing more light on it, the Akim Swedru MP said eight different Ghanaian companies have been assigned to carry out the projects.

Mr Osei Nyarko further added that these projects are expected to commence latest by the first week of April this year, 2022.

He concluded that the government is carrying out the said projects with the aim of reducing road accidents on the Accra-Kumasi highway and also managing the heavy traffic flow for motorists and other road users.
