GPL: Hearts of Oak opening match called off over Covid-19 testing issues

A report from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) indicates that the football governing body has called off Accra Hearts Of Oak’s opening Ghana Premier League match between Aduana Stars at the Agyeman Badu Sports stadium.

According to the report from GFA’s communications, the decision came after they received a report that players and officials of the Hearts team need to undergo further Covid-19 testing before the team plays any match.

The GFA further added that this testing will be conducted by the Public health services.
The report added, “The GPL match which was scheduled to be played at the Agyeman Badu Park I on Saturday, November 14, is postponed till further notice.

The GFA has taken steps to inform both teams and all other stakeholders.”

Meanwhile, all other matches shall come off at the various centers as planned.
