Group Urges Political Parties, Stakeholders To Reject Flawed 2024 Voter Register

CFF accused the EC of feet dragging in responding to the myriads of concerns being raised by Political Parties, CSOs, and other Stakeholders

A Civil Society Organization (CSO), Community Focus Foundation Ghana (CFF-Ghana), is urging all Political Parties including Movements and Independent Candidates in the upcoming general elections to roundly reject the error riddled 2024 voter register provided by the Electoral Commission (EC), as it lacks credibility and is unfit for purpose.

A statement released by CFF – Ghana on Wednesday, September 11, read in part: “This urgent call has become necessary due to several concerns being raised by Ghanaians including eligible voters whose names have been deleted from the register by corrupt EC officials, files not showing names and pictures of registered voters, unauthorized and illegal voter transfers among others, to send a strong signal to the EC to take immediate action in conducting a very independent audit of the register to ensure its credibility for the upcoming general election.”

CFF accused the EC of feet dragging in responding to the myriads of concerns being raised by Political Parties, CSOs, and other Stakeholders in ensuring that the December 7th polls were free, fair and transparent.

“In fact, the feet dragging posture of the EC regarding the demand for forensic audit of the provisional voters register leaves much to be desired. It is not helping anyone but only lays credence to the alleged sinister agenda by the EC and its supposed election rigging collaborators.

We are by this statement urging all electoral stakeholders including citizens, political entities, human rights advocates among other stakeholders to stand up and speak against the electoral injustice being perpetrated against Ghanaian voters by the Electoral Commission through unpopular actions including illegally transferring registered voters to unknown polling stations without the consent of the affected registered voters.
