As part of activities to mark the 2021 Valentine’s Day celebration, Heritage FM, a local radio station at Hohoe in the Volta Region in collaboration with the Frank Foley Educational Support Fund, donated some items worth several thousands of Ghana Cedes to three physically challenged schools in Hohoe and Kpando.
Volta School for the Intellectually disabled – Gbi Kledzo, School for the Deaf/Blind, Hohoe, Community Inclusive special School, Kpando were beneficiaries.
This is an initiative by Frank Foley, General Manager of Heritage FM with support from the general public.
The items donated include, bags of rice, sack of maize, detergents, assorted drinks, cartons of bottled water, toiletries, nosemasks, footwears among others.
Some cash donations were also made to the Institutions. This is to assist with upkeep of students.
Frank Foley in an interview with Heritage News as monitored by ghananewsonline.com.gh disclosed that, the donation was part of their social responsibilities to the less privileged in society.
He lamented about the dificulties these disadvantaged brothers and sister go through each day. And said that, the support was in the right direction.
He added that he will use the Fund to embark on development activities in the area by providing support to school children as part of his priorities.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the beneficiary schools, Headmaster of Volta School for the Deaf/Blind Dr. Michael Mawuli Kudjo Castro expressed profound gratitude to the donors for the kind gesture.
He and called on other benevolence organizations to come to thier aid.
Headmaster of the Community Inclusive Special School, Rev Gilhert Gbekle, was grateful to the donors and appealed for teaching and learning materials.
Representative from Volta School for the Intellectually challenged, Mr. Francis Benuyenah lamented on some challenges facing the school and appealed for support.

Refurbishment of the Hohoe Municipal Library, refurbishment of Female and Juvenile Holding Center (Cells) in Hohoe and Reroofing of Hohoe R.C Boys school.
The Fund also donated to physically challenged schools in and around Hohoe.
