Residents in Ho and surrounding areas are once again without water following the breakdown of a shaft at the Ghana Water Company Limited’s (GWCL) Kpeve Headworks on Thursday, January 30.
This marks the third failure in recent months, disrupting supply to previously affected communities.
The supply of water began about a week ago after the second breakdown of the shaft at the Kpeve Headworks.
Frustrated residents are calling on GWCL to implement a permanent solution to the recurring issue.
Many fear prolonged shortages will further impact daily life and businesses.
“I received a notice that these pumps at Kpeve are damaged and so they are working on them and we have not had water for more than a month and I have been buying water and that is actually affecting my schedules.
“I am pleading that the issue be resolved,” one resident appealed.
Meanwhile, GWCL has issued a statement signed by Regional Production Manager, Ing. Ransford Nii Djan Amoo, which says, their engineers are working tirelessly to repair the fault and restore supply.
