A sexual banter between a 74 year old British national and his Ghanaian girl friend has resulted in the death of the former.
This came to light when An Accra High Court charged a 20-year-old interior decorator, Pearl Agbomadzi, with murder.
This is in connection with the death of a 74-year-old British national living in Ghana.
According to the prosecution, the deceased, John Scott Hughes, had invited Ms Agbomadzi to meet him at American House and subsequently took her to Philipo’s Movie House, a popular location in East Legon, where he booked a room for them.
The prosecution’s account states that Mr Hughes and Ms Agbomadzi, whom they described as his girlfriend, watched pornography together and engaged in a consensual sexual encounter
During the activity, Mr Hughes reportedly became unconscious and collapsed on the floor, causing Ms Agbomadzi to panic.
She then rushed to the reception area to seek assistance and informed the staff about Hughes’ condition.
The police were called, and Hughes was subsequently transported to Legon Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The complainant in the matter is the wife of the deceased.
On October 24, counsel for the accused person, John Baptist Ayedze prayed for bail for his client who has since been in police custody.
The prosecution led by Assistant State Attorney Frederick Adu Gyamfi did not oppose to the bail application.
Presiding Judge, Lydia Osei Marfo then granted a bail of GHS100,000 with a surety.
In her closing remarks, she urged older men to be cautious of their sexual lives and not go for younger women who she intimated can be hazardous due to the age difference.
