Hubtel, one of Ghana’s leading fintech firms says 2023 was a year full of remarkable achievements for them and they are confident 2024 will even be better in spite of several predictions that the year is going to be a difficult one.
In a end of year message to his team, Hubtel CEO, Alex Bram, said “2023 was not just another year at Hubtel – it was a roaring symphony of growth, resilience, and shared triumph.”
He added “As we enter 2024, it’s time to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve taken together and the horizon that stretches before us, teeming with exciting possibilities.”
In his end of year message, Alex Bram stated that 2023 will be fondly remembered as a year filled with remarkable achievements and inspiring resilience.
Tripled staff numbers
He noted that in 2023, Hubtel nearly tripled its staff strength from about 200 at the beginning of the year to a vibrant team of almost 600, saying that this incredible talent surge not only speaks volumes about Hubtel’s magnetism and the opportunities it offers, but more importantly, a testament to the strength of its leadership culture and its capacity to do more.
GHS160 billion worth of transactions
Alex Bram said in 2023, Hubtel did not just add numbers, but also shattered records by safely and securely processing nearly GHS160 billion worth of transactions and transfers, “a staggering achievement that solidifies our position as the leading payment services provider in Ghana.”
This success, he said, belongs to every single staff member, whether they were directly involved in processing or securing transactions, building products, directly serving customers on the frontlines, or ensuring its systems thrived under such immense pressure.
“Beyond these impressive numbers, what truly inspires me is the unwavering spirit that has shone through every challenge we face. From integrating such a large number of new team members to navigating unknown new technologies, we faced every obstacle head-on, adapting, innovating, failing, falling, rising, and always pushing the boundaries of what’s possible,” he said.
2024
The CEO said he is is filled with an unyielding optimism for the future as the company enters into 2024, adding that “We have a solid foundation of talent, expertise, and achievements, and our market is ripe with possibilities.”
He said Hubtel will continue to invest in its people to empower them to learn, grow, and lead, adding that they will also unleash the power of emerging technologies such as AI, ML, and big data systems to create even more impactful services that can improve lifestyles and drive Ghana forward.
“Above all, we will hold onto that Hubtel spirit of collaboration, and that unwavering determination to confront the truth, seek what is possible, and obsessively improve. This makes us who we are,” he stated.
Alex Bram thanked the workers for an incredible year, saying that he was honoured to be a part of what the team is doing for its communities, the country , and for Africa.
