Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has said some people were worried over his apology for the profane language he used recently during the demonstration that was organized by the Minority against the Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
He said he said sorry to some of the people who got offended by his apology.
Sosu said this while answering questions in an interview with Giovanni Caleb on the 3FM Drive Time show on Tuesday, October 17, on his personal values and whether or not he has ever taken a bribe to speak in favor of issues he is personally against.
“I will never take money to speak against my conviction. I think my prices are my values and I want to stand by my values and that is why even after I apologized after that outburst people were angry and disappointed by my apology.”
“To some people, I had to apologize for apologizing. But I had to maintain my position today that this is inconsistent with my values and so I won’t stand u for that’ So there is no way I will accept monetary consideration to speak against my conscience and what I cherish as values,” he said.
Sosu also had some words for young persons who want to go into politics to make money.
He said the money-driven desire to go into politics can push them to engage in questionable conduct which will attract the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to come in to investigate.
Even if they are not caught by the human laws, one day the almighty God will hold them to account for their stewardship, he said.
The private legal practitioner said “We have gone through a series of lessons from careers that we can bring on board to change the course of our nation. That is how every young person seeking to do politics must begin to think, if you are thinking of making money in politics, just know that you are a candidate for jail because in no time you will it will catch up with them and the OSP may come after you, if the OSP doesn’t come after you your own conscience and someday God will come after you, the ultimate judge above all judges knows what you are doing.”
