I will disburse LEAP equitably – Adwoa Safo

The Minister Designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo says she will inject equity in the disbursement of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme and expand it to cover many people who fall within the poverty line.

She also expressed the intention to collaborate with the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation for proper data that shows the right people who are entitled to the support. Sarah Adwoa Safo made this known when she appeared before the Appointments Committee on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
Adwoa Safo also stated that she would pay particular attention to the help given to victims of rape and defilement. She pointed out that victims of these crimes must be given special attention since it is not their fault to be in such unfortunate situations.
She assured the House that when approved as a Minister, she will work harder for Bills like the Affirmative Action Bill and the Property Right of Spouses Bill to be brought to Parliament for approval. The nominee also answered questions relating to the school feeding programme, witches camps and the issue of granting men Paternity Leave in Ghana.
