But for greed, John Dramani Mahama, according to General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), wouldn’t have come to be voted as President again.
Justin Kodua Frimpong says the 2024 elections is between two people; one who has occupied every position there is in the country, with nothing to lose after being voted as President, with only one term remaining for him, and another who will return to the people to account for his stewardship.
Speaking to some party faithful at the Agona West campaign launch in the Central Region Sunday, September 08, 2024, at the Agona Swedru main station, Kodua Frimpong averred that the December election is going to be determined by the Gen Zs, saying it is their future.
“It is you the Gen Zs that will make Dr. Bawumia win the December 07 elections. The December 07 elections is about our future. The poll is between two people, one has been an assembly member, MP, Deputy Minister, Minister, Vice President and also become President. What else is he looking for? If not for greediness, what else does he want?” he questioned.
Speaking further, he said what John Mahama could be remembered for is the erratic power supply also known as ‘dumsor’ that characterised his administration and collapsed many businesses.
To secure their future, Mr. Kodua noted that Dr. Bawumia will provide the jobs they need for the youth after giving them free education.
“What Ghanaians remember about him is that, at the time he became President for five years, all he brought was dumsor. When Ghanaians told him at the time that they needed power, he said you the Gen Zs have purchased many mobile phones and keeping them on charge was the reason there was dumsor. He cancelled nursing and teacher trainee allowance at his time and he was not making recruitment into the government services until someone dies. When we were introducing free SHS, he said it wasn’t possible,” he stated.
“Bawumia says after giving you free SHS, if you vote for him, he is bringing you jobs. That is why he says ‘It Is Possible’. Also, if Bawumia becomes President, he will go for a 8 years. But if Mahama deceives you to vote for him, you can’t do anything to him again because he can’t come to you again. But Bawumia will come back to you to render accountability for a second term,” he added.
