To ensure food security in the country for unforeseen events, the leader of the New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako is determined to build a seedling reserve as one of the key reserves for the country when voted into power.
According to him, the reserve will cover 100 years and sustain the country food-wise and ensure food security.
He likened his idea to the biblical era of Joseph in Egypt while launching his manifesto virtually on September 1 evening.
The idea will also position Ghana as the food hub to feed other countries around the globe, he affirmed.
Bediako announced this as part of his 12 Economic Transformation pillars for the country when he is elected President in the December polls.
Other reserves he intends to build include oil and all other minerals mined in the country.
These reserves, he indicated would be stored up in what he called a National Sovereign Wealth Fund.
This fund, according to him, will be a competitor to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). According to him it will be a tax reserve for 30% of all extractions by multinationals.
“It (National Sovereign Fund) will be the new IMF. It will be a new policy that will disrupt, district and dissolve the IMF.”
