Renowned Broadcast Journalist, Afia Pokua, popularly known as “Vim Lady” has clarified that she is not the Afia Pokua who disrespected the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Onua TV.

A Journalist at Agoo FM, Okwahuman Piesie Afia Pokua on Onua TV “Biribi Gyegye Wo” show hosted by Mona Gucci berated the Ashantehene for failure to resolve the ongoing tribal feud between the Ashantis and others.

She also questioned the supremacy of the Ashantehene over other kings in Ghana.

Her comments set social media ablaze as the Ashantis have descended on her while others mistook Afia Pokua over the Agoo FM Journalist resulting in several insults.

But Vim Lady has clarified that she is not the Afia Pokua disrespecting the Asantehene and that those who are texting and insulting her should stop.

According to Vim Lady, she was born in Tema but her Ashanti roots are firmly planted in Adansi/Kwabre and Amansie and her Great Oath (ntamkesie) is to the Golden Stool (Sikadwa).

“Please those who texting me and insulting me about this video. This IS NOT ME. I beg paaaaa. Born in Tema but My Ashanti roots are firmly planted in Adansi/Kwabre and Amansie. My ntamkesie is to SIKADWA!!!” She wrote.

Meanwhile, Afia Pokua has apologised to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II over her comments.

“My comments about the Asantehene and Asanteman were unacceptable and potentially damaging to His Majesty’s hard-won reputation and integrity. The Asantehene has demonstrated exemplary leadership throughout his reign, earning the admiration of many.”

“Although I had no malicious intent, I thoughtless behaviour, I am aware I did not communicate well on the subject of discussion. I take full responsibility for my actions and consider this a valuable learning experience.”
