Communication Officer of the biggest opposition party in Ghana – the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described the Akufo-Addo government as a “monstrous force”, and deserving of the title “the most corrupt government in the history of Ghana”.
“We are saddened to observe that under the leadership of Akufo- Addo, corruption has become such a monstrous force devouring every force which dares to stand in his way,” Sammy Gyamfi added
Speaking at the NDC’s weekly press briefing at the party’s headquarters, Sammy Gyamfi, noted that President Akufo-Addo has become a force spearheading corruption in the NPP government and that is what exactly has led to Martin Amidu abandoning his position as the Special prosecutor.
According to him, the clear intent and purposes of President Akufo-Addo for setting up the Office of the Special Prosecutor was not to fight corruption but just a mechanism to score “cheap political capital”. He described him as “a fighter fighting corruption fighters.”
He explained that President Akufo-Addo’s posture in 2016 as someone who hates corruption was just a trick to deceive Ghanaians, adding that President Akufo-Addo lied his way into government and has continued in these lies as a president.
