‘I’ve been trying for years to thrash out my issue with Stonebwoy’ – Kelvynboy

Stonebwoy separated ties with Kelvynboy in 2019 after the latter signed a contract with Burniton Music Group.

Ghanaian afrobeats and highlife artiste Kelvynboy has spoken about his attempts to resolve his issues with Stonebwoy.

“I’ve been trying for years. It is not the first thing I think about when I wake up from bed but when it comes to my issue with Stonebwoy, I wish we thrashed it out.

“Any time, we’ve tried I don’t think he’s ready. But me, I dey,” Kelvynboy said in an interview on Thursday, September 26 on Hitz FM.

Stonebwoy separated ties with Kelvynboy in 2019 after the latter signed a contract with Burniton Music Group.

The separation happened after Stonebwoy claimed Kelvynboy had disrespected him.

A press release from Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music Group that announced the separation stated that “Mr Kelvin Brown (Kelvyn Boy) and the Company entered into an agreement dated January 22, 2018, which, to a large extent, governed the relationship between both parties (the Agreement). The Agreement had an initial term of one (1) year, and provided the Company with an option to extend the tenure for a further period of four (4) years (the Option).”

It further indicated that the contract extension period under the agreement did not take effect after the agreement expired on January 21, 2019.

“The above notwithstanding, the Company has continued to work with Kelvyn Boy until now under the terms of the Agreement. Following the audit, the Company has considered the expired status of the Agreement as well as the conduct of Kelvyn Boy during its tenure and has decided not to trigger the Option. Consequently, the Company has decided to release Kelvyn Boy from the Agreement and he has been duly notified of this decision.

“Accordingly, Kelvyn Boy ceases to be an artiste under the Company and will no longer be associated with the Company and/or the BHIM Nation brand. We wish him success in his future endeavours,” the record label said.

However, the ‘Sugarcane’ hitmaker apologised to Stonebwoy after the complains of disrespect.

Following their split, Kelvynboy has achieved enormous success by breaking through international music markets with hit singles and albums.

Kelvynboy has currently released a new song titled ‘Man Down’ which features Lasmid.
