A Former Head of Bursary at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council (NRCC), Baba Daney has accused his political opponents of falsely accusing him of engaging in forgery in the pursuit of a clandestine political agenda.
In a statement reacting to media publications that he alleged forged signatures of his superiors to withdraw money GH¢119,423.60 from the Northern Regional Coordinating Council Bursary, he said the claims are untrue.
He said “I wish to state categorically that I have never and shall never engage in acts of impropriety in line of my duty as a public servant with several years of good standing and a financial expert”
Mr Daney added “Though I am not above the laws of the country, I will have not in any way misconducted myself in places I worked as District Accountant including Gushegu, Zabzugu, Tolon, Savelugu and the Northern Regional Coordinating all in the Northern Region”

RE: Financial scandal hits Northern Regional Coordinating Council; top official fingered
My attention has been drawn to a publication on Dec 9, 2019 with the above headline that sought to suggest that I have been engaged in forgery among other allegations and withdrawing money totally GH¢119,423.60 from the Northern Regional Coordinating Council Bursary
I wish to state categorically that I have never and shall never engage in acts of impropriety in line of my duty as a public servant with several years of good standing and a financial expert.
The publication which is believed to have been fueled my some faceless individuals for political reasons is aimed at casting a slur on my hard won reputation for reasons best known to those persons.
Though I am not above the laws of the country, I will have not in any way misconducted myself in places I worked as District Accountant including Gushegu, Zabzugu, Tolon, Savelugu and the Northern Regional Coordinating all in the Northern Region.
I, therefore, wish to state unequivocally that I have never been a criminal, have not engaged in any crime and want Ghanaians to treat the publication with the contempt it deserves.
The matter has since been referred to my lawyers to fish out those behind the slanderous publication.
Meanwhile my focus on contesting the Yendi Constituency Seat when the party officially opens nominations is wavered. I would soon take the right steps with my employers in order to focus on this ambition.
Signed
Baba Baba Osman Daney
