June 4: Ketu South MP drowns Presidenr Nana Akufo-Addo again

"I'm old enough to remember what happened in 1979, 1981 and what is happening today in this country, is worse".

 

The people of Ketu South in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region have marked this year’s June 4 anniversary commemotion with a health walk and free health screening.

The walk, well attended by hundreds of  lovers of probity and accountability, and NDC Members strolled through some of the principal streets within the Municipality from Three Town SHS through Denu Junction to Texaco Junction and to the main gate of the Municipal Hospital, they converged at the Low Cost Beach within Aflao Urban Zone where they got addressed by the organizers.

The organizers acknowledged the peaceful maner in which the people comported themselves on the streets from start to finish.

The Member of Parliament for the Area, Abla Dzifa Gomashie made the point that the current economic hardship in Ghana, her area is the most hard-hit due to the “over two years of Border closure and over a year of sea erosion that has destroyed and displayed hundreds of people and property along the coast”.

According to her, she’s old enough to remember what happened on June 4

“I’m old enough to remember what happened in 1979, 1981 and what is happening today in this country, is worse”.

She challenged the government to deal with the economic problems confronting Ghanaians as she reminded the policy makers about the fact that, “let the leaders-those big names of this country know that we’re suffering, parents, fathers, mothers and all of us are suffering” .

She used the occasion to remind the gathering of, the spirit and man behind June 4 uprising and the need for “all NDC loving people to be strong and remain resolute because the challenges we are facing now are now perhaps more than what we faced then”.

“May the gentle soul of Awaklasu, the late President Jerry John Rawlings rest well in the bosom of Abraham”.
