KAN DAPAAH: You will have Security Crisis if Soldiers returning from Peacekeeping can’t vote on December 7, 2020 – An Owula Mangortey observation

I am a Whistleblower with a known face and address.

I rise to ask Hon. Kan Dapaah, the Minister of National Security, whether his ears are also on the ground in the barracks and hearing that he will have a security crisis on his hands if the Electoral Commission does not take steps to register the batches of soldiers returning into the country from Peacekeeping duties?

Over the next few weeks, about three batches (estimated at some 840) are scheduled to return from Lebanon or there about.

Whisperings among the soldiers are that they are determined to cast their votes in the upcoming December 7, 2020 elections, and will not countenance being disenfanchised because they were away on International peackeeping operations during the periood of the voter registration exercise.

I am informing Minister of National Security that If the State of Ghana and the Electoral Commission of Ghana did not take adequate steps to register the soldiers on Peacekeeping assignments, then there will be work for Kan Dapaah and the State Security to do to douse the fire of red eyes among the returning troops.

KAN DAPAAH: You will have Security Crisis if Soldiers returning from Peacekeeping can’t vote on December 7, 2020 – An Owula Mangortey observation

I am drawing the attention of the National Security Minister, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, the Leadership of the Political Parties, Civil Society Organizations to find a middle ground for soldiers returning from Peacekeeping Operations to register to vote on December 7.

Hon. Kan Dapaah, Minister of National Security, don’t say you did not hear me blow the whistle on the voting rights of Soldiers returning home from Peacekeeping Operations.

Do you remember the case of Brigadier Tehn Addy (as he then was)?
